Dear reader…as you can tell by my posting holiday things have been quite busy here in Boxspring land. With a couple of new interns on board we hope to get back to a regular posting schedule soon.
For now though I want to share three links that have impacted me over the last few weeks…each really deserves it’s own post, but I’ll let you read and take away what you can out of each.
1. In 2012 Australian filmmaker Jason van Genderen entered a short film contest after finding cinematic inspiration in the hardest 60 minutes of his week; the hour directly following the 52 hours he gets to spend with his children on the weekend. This hour, for which his film is aptly named ‘The 53 Hour’, is his reflection on the moments he most recently shared with his children before their impending absence. It made me think about God our Father and how he longs for relationship with us. Be sure to have the tissues handy. Watch the video.
2. The gift of questions in a relationship…the right ones really are a gift. A friend shared this on Facebook, and it sums up how we can stay locked behind superficial questions like ‘How was your day?’ or ‘How are you?’. Titled: The Questions that will save your Relationship is both story and advice that ends with this summary: Life is a conversation. Make it a good one.
3. And the last one…both a story of redemption and encouragement, so deep and good it can hardly be summed up. It will lay bare an orphan’s heart, a long read that’s worth every minute. Hopefully you’ve kept the tissues handy: When life leaves you flinching
