Our little miss has lost a friend. It’s the first bosom buddy friend she had. Friends so good they would seamlessly pick up where they left off and visits would turn into days of switching between our home and hers. She is a safe friend, one who accepts and loves and is kind and understanding, a rarity among good friends. But this week she moved away and it is the first real loss our miss has experienced.
Last week the grief poured in waves between normalcy and despair and so what’s a mother to do except hold tight and shed tears. Oh I wracked my brain for what could take the pain away, ready to buy a much wanted puppy dog immediately just to see a happy heart again. It would eventually prove to be a temporary balm so we went to the Healer and asked for hope, strength, courage and peace and perhaps a new friend who would be just as sweet.
“Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul.” (3 John 1:2)
