One of my favorite bloggers, Penelope Trunk, posted yesterday about being enchanting. These are her four keys to being enchanting.

1. Say yes.

2. Be passionate.

3. Make people better than they are.

4. Show gratitude.

What’s interesting is believers tend to live these, which means our belief and relationship with Jesus makes for a naturally enchanting people (group). This list reminds me of certain people I know who live this well…Carol, Leah, Julie, Deb, SIL, my dear husband, and my inlaws, our pastor and wife. Can you think of people too?

But when I really think about who lived and modeled this exceptionally Jesus takes the cake because he modelled it perfectly.

Say yes…even to the cross. (“My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.” Matthew 26:39)

Be passionate about setting injustice right, giving abundant life, discipleship (“I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” John 10:10).

Make people whole again (“Then Jesus stood up again and said to the woman, ‘Where are your accusers? Didn’t even one of them condemn you?’  ‘No, Lord,” she said. And Jesus said, ‘Neither do I. Go and sin no more.’ – John 8:1-11).

Show gratitude (“…and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves.”- Matthew 14:19)

Consider this definition of the word Enchant; to attract and move deeply. Fits Jesus doesn’t it?
