“Prayer is the link that connects us with God. It is the bridge that spans every gulf and carries us safely over every chasm of danger or need.” My brother-in-law told me yesterday he had his first inter-continental prayer meeting via Skype. One guy was in NZ, another in Cambodia and another in the UK, and another in the US. They formatted it based on the story of the paralytic who was lowered from the roof by his friends so that he could gain access to Jesus for healing. Each one of us has an area where we are paralyzed, and so among the group they took turns praying for each other’s area of paralyzation as well as other areas that were pressing on them. (Next week is the debrief to hear what God has done.)

Prayer is so often overlooked as a way to break down barriers, gain wisdom and insight into situations and as a way of healing. As it says, “Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.” (New Living Translation (©2007)
